Senior HR Systems Administrator/ HCM Administration

Research Triangle Park, NC

Our large client is seeking a Senior HR Systems Administrator with experience in Oracle’s HCM system or, a similar cloud-based HCM (human capital management) system.

We work closely with the manager at this leading organization, and this is a long-term position with excellent opportunity for advancement through the company.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

– Responsible for ensuring the performance and reliability of HR Systems, including Oracle HCM (“HR Systems”)

– Coordinate system-wide updates and installing upgrades and patches for HR systems.

– Maintain HR systems security through user profile management, creates and updates access permissions and maintains user accounts.

– Monitors and maintains performance metrics for system features, recommends and takes corrective/preventive actions.

– Perform configuration, change management and testing activities as required, and documents these activities.

– Perform troubleshooting for software and HR system problems.

– Lead or participate in projects to implement or enhance systems and applications.

– Work with customer to define user requirements and system configuration needs, document requirements, system design and configuration documents, and keep documentation up-to-date.

– Participate in the design, development and implementation of test and production objects.

– Maintain relationships with existing HR vendors.

– Provide recommendations for enhancements/changes that may involve custom design, optional and third-party products to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of HR systems.

– Consult with users on technology changes that will impact work processes. 

– Proactively seek out technology solutions for customer and stakeholder business challenges.

– 6 years of relevant work experience

– 3+ years of experience administering Oracle’s HCM system or a similar cloud-based HCM (human capital management) system.

– Extensive knowledge of Oracle HCM Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, and HR modules.

– Skills in approaches and formal processes for systems administration and project management; requires advanced troubleshooting techniques and software design.

– Technical writing (requirements, design and configuration documents, test plans).

– Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.

– Ability to research, evaluate, and make recommendations for applications, database, and web technology implementations. 

– Ability to install, configure, and implement applications, databases, and web technologies. 

– Ability to diagnose, repair and communicate the status of applications, systems, and web technology implementations supported as a level three resource. 

– Project coordination/management skills. 

– Knowledge of, or skills in, planning, designing, and developing software solutions and the SDLC.

– Ability to multi-task and pro-actively adjust conflicting priorities.

– Ability to work well with others.

– Ability to listen and communicate well both verbally and in writing.

– Ability to work independently.

– Attention to detail and accuracy.


– ITIL Foundation certification is preferred.
