Lead IT Business Systems Analyst (Application/Infrastructure Modernization)
Cleveland, OHOur direct, Fortune 100 client is looking for a lead-level, REMOTE IT Business Systems Analyst for a 6-month, extendable contract position. You’d be supporting their DMZ to HSZ PCI migration initiative, which involves the modernization and transformation of legacy application and infrastructure components. This project involves broad and complex features, including API modernization, document retrieval modernization, and the migration of legacy server-hosted pages. Your primary responsibilities would involve requirements elicitation, documentation, and management within Azure DevOps, as well as system analysis and process mapping.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
– Facilitate requirements gathering, discovery workshops, backlog refinement sessions, and technical design discussions.
– Partner with solution architects, technical leads, and developers to define functional and non-functional requirements.
– Translate complex technical conversations into epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and Azure DevOps work items.
– Develop and maintain project backlogs, storyboards, and requirements documentation.
– Analyze application dependencies, integrations, APIs, client/server interactions, and modernization impacts.
– Identify business and technical risks, assumptions, constraints, and dependencies across multiple systems.
– Support estimation, planning, and prioritization activities for modernization features.
– Participate in Agile ceremonies, including standups, planning sessions, and retrospectives.
– Collaborate with QA and development teams to validate requirements and ensure successful delivery.
Required:
– Strong Business Systems Analyst experience on medium-to-large application modernization or transformation initiatives.
– Strong requirements elicitation, documentation, user story creation, acceptance criteria development, backlog management and refinement skills.
– Ability to facilitate technical discussions and translate complex software engineering concepts into actionable backlog items.
– Strong communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
– Knowledge of modern application architectures, APIs, system integrations, or client/server applications.
Plusses:
– Working knowledge of cloud, networking, and platform technologies, including OpenShift or similar environments.
– Experience in Agile delivery, Scrum Master or Testing role a plus.
– Insurance industry experience a plus.
